On January 31, a group of eight youth ocean advocates joined youth from other organizations like Woodland Park Zoo and the Pacific Science Center for a tree planting. This event was to kick off a up and coming campaign called Youth Climate Action Network (Youth CAN). Thanks to this group a total of 150 trees, 30 shrubs, and 30 understory plants on the Burke- Gilman Trail. Did you know that one tree can absorb about 50 pounds of carbon dioxide a year?
