Celebrating Our Waterways This Holiday Season

There are many festive holiday traditions happening around the Puget Sound this time of year. Two of my favorites center around beautiful local waterways. The first one is the Christmas Ships Festival. The decorated ships sail around to a different Puget Sound location each night, and stop for a performance from the choirs on board. You can join them in your kayak or listen to the carolers from shore. Check the schedule (http://www.argosycruises.com/dining-cruises/christmas-ship-festival/) to find out when you can watch a performance near you! #SeattleChristmasShips

Another one of my favorite events is the annual Green Lake luminaria. Though Green Lake is not connected to Puget Sound, it is just a few minutes away, and draws many people who come from all around to walk their dogs, ride their bikes, or jog. The park was especially crowded this Saturday, with live musicians, families, decorated kayaks, and of course the candles in their paper bags lining the trail. The beauty of water is wonderful for bringing people together, and what better way to celebrate the holiday season? #GreenLakePathwayOfLights
