With World Ocean Day fast approaching (June 8th) we would like to encourage people to come out and support our oceans by attending one of our beach cleanups at either Alki beach in West Seattle or Pocket beach in downtown Seattle by the Olympic Sculpture Park. We will start the cleanups at 12:30 and continue until 4:30, but feel free to drop in at any time. We will provide volunteers with equipment and help instruct workers with what to do if they have not participated in a beach cleanup before. If you are unable to make it to either of our two beaches you can start a beach cleanup of your own! Don’t know about World Ocean Day? Find out more in our article about it here!
Come pledge an hour this weekend to clean up the ocean! Join us on Facebook, whether you’ll be with the team or not!
If you’re planning on picking up, you might want to review some beach cleaning techniques with our video! You can find it here.
And remember, have fun and know you’re helping out the ocean and all of its awesome residents! Happy World Ocean Day!
